For several years now, the automotive sector in Algeria has been going through difficult times, marked by the halting of new vehicle imports in 2017 and the closure of assembly plants in 2019. Faced with this situation, the Algerian government has introduced major reforms, in particular specifications governing the manufacture and distribution of new vehicles.
These initiatives have enabled several key players to position themselves in the market. Among them, Fiat (Fiat El Djazair) and Opel (Halil Commerce et Industrie) were the first to obtain the necessary authorisation to import new vehicles, while the Stellantis group launched production of Fiat vehicles at its plant in Oran.
A stronger network of agents: the key to national coverage
The network of Stellantis El Djazair agents has become an essential element in guaranteeing effective coverage throughout Algeria. The network currently includes almost 70 agents responsible for selling Fiat and Opel vehicles, as well as after-sales services for all Stellantis Group brands.
Since obtaining its authorisations, Stellantis El Djazair has focused on professionalising its network. To achieve this, it is essential to provide suitable tools that enable agents to meet the growing expectations of customers.
